As we all know Climate Change is real and is affecting even us in the United States. The upside is that in the US we are up to date and don’t really suffer from the actual affects of the severity of Climate change. The downside is that many workers and citizens of other Countries that are under developed really feel the wrath.
Patagonia is now trying to start a pilot program to supply and aid factory workers in hotspots that are unbearable to live in. The program starts off with a survey to figure out the actual severity of these climate changes by getting information from professionals and experts. For example in Vietnam the temperatures reach over 100 degrees. To fight against these crazy temperatures Patagonia has helped by installing a sustainable supply of water for the workers, ventilation fans for the factories and even given out individual fans to every employee.
Patagonia is also trying to help farmers in unstable Countries. Due to Heavy downfalls and dry spells, crop yields have been negatively affected in Central India. This has caused Indian farmers to lose lots of money, time, and work. Patagonia believes that if they can figure out how to find the right soil and the ideal cropping practices, crops might be able to actually grow in such extreme weather conditions.
My personal belief is that if you have money to help and give to others in need you should because lots of people around the world are struggling everyday to make ends meet. The fact that Patagonia, a huge clothing monopoly feels the need to help others gives me hope for other corporations to make a change.
